Today is the fourth anniversary of the planting of our beautiful Rooted in Reading tree that stands proudly outside Reading Town Hall. The tree was planted with Ethical Reading as a symbol of hope and belonging for children and young people who are in care outside of their home town, Reading. It was an idea born by a young person who had to go into care far from Reading because there were no local carers available to support him and give him a safe home. He had to move away from all his friends, family, school. Everything that was familiar to him. Can you imagine what that’s like?
We’re looking for more local foster carers so we can keep Reading children in care local.
Can you help?
